Why did you take part in Wake Up To Organic 2019?
We took part in Wake Up To Organic as we recognised the importance of people having clean organic produce to eat. We are also trying to avoid the use of unnecessary damaging chemicals.
What did you get out of it?
We were able to offer a different option to the community from other businesses on the high street, raising awareness on the importance of organics.
What did you do on the day?
We were visited by a local school Ysgol Llandullas who received free organic breakfasts, we were also able to provide samples and information to our regular customers, explaining the many benefits of organic produce for themselves and also the environment.
Was it a success?
Yes, we had a lot of interest and support from the local community, we are confident people will begin to question where their food comes from and how it is being produced.
What was a highlight of the day?
A highlight was seeing customers both old and new showing an interest and learning about where their food comes from and the effect it has on the planet.
How did you market it?
We sent out a press release to local news outlets, we displayed a poster on site with leaflets, explaining to customers about the day. We also shared posts on our social media pages leading up to the day.
Do you have any great ideas for your Wake Up To Organic event next year?
We will be looking to provide packets of organically produced / heirloom seeds to be planted and grown in our local area, providing information sheets on DIY natural pest control, composting and seed saving.
